About this “Sharing Series”
Active practitioners never stop learning. The world is our university. Everyone we meet has something to teach us. Nature and our surroundings have lessons awaiting us. In the 1980s, we had to attend training sessions and read manuals before being allowed to operate machines and equipment. These days, things are user friendly or “built for idiots” so most people often just start machines and “run & learn on the fly”
In this age of AI, there’s so much easily accessible information on the internet that quick learners have good chances of surprising even subject matter experts or “specialists”. It is now the norm for people to specialise in fields without having basic training in the field. This is not desirable. My Sifu Yoong likes to say: “You do not know what you don’t know”.
I know a little about many things. A “Jack of all trades, master of none”. In this “sharing series”, I try to share the little that I know on some topics that may interest people in the industry. I am sure there are many experts in our community who prefer to keep a low profile. Let this be an opportunity for “peer-to-peer” review or exchange of knowledge and experience. All are encouraged to contribute new articles or comments here. Private message me and we shall respond privately, publish here or update as a “white paper” with/without mention of contributors (according to your wishes).
