AGILENT PUTS MALAYSIA ON THE GLOBAL MAP FOR INDUSTRY 4.0 EXCELLENCE.

Agilent Technologies' state-of-the-art smart factory in Penang has been named a Global Lighthouse by the World Economic Forum and McKinsey & Company, highlighting its excellence in advanced manufacturing under the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). The facility achieved a 40% increase in productivity, 48% reduction in delivery lead times, and significant environmental improvements through AI and digital technologies.

This recognition places Malaysia, particularly Penang, on the global map for smart manufacturing, with Agilent’s site being one of only two in the country to receive this honor. Key leaders, including Penang’s Chief Minister and MIDA’s CEO, praised Agilent for balancing technological innovation with sustainability and workforce development.

Agilent’s success is attributed to its digital training program, which upskilled 88% of its local employees, fostering human-machine collaboration and reinforcing Malaysia’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing.
