Capability Mapping Survey for the Malaysian M&E and MRS Sectors

Dear Industry Stakeholders,

We are pleased to invite you to participate in this Capability Mapping Survey for the Malaysian Machinery & Equipment (M&E) and Manufacturing Related Services (MRS) sectors. This survey is an initiative undertaken by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), an agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), through the Machinery & Equipment Productivity Nexus (MEPN) in collaboration with the Machinery & Engineering Industries Federation (MEIF).

The M&E and MRS sectors have shown resilience during the pandemic. In this context, it is timely to assess industry resilience beyond the context of the current crisis – to how the industry can be made more resilient across multiple dimensions in the face of numerous threats and risks such as the resilience of physical assets, operations, business models and governance, as well as financing. Consideration needs to be given to industry ecosystems more generally, not just individual assets or projects, taking into account broader factors such as the environment and climate and the role of technology.

In this first post-pandemic mapping of the industry's new landscape, we aim to identify the capabilities of the sector, and understand the adaptations of businesses and stakeholders, in order to formulate targeted strategies and policies towards fostering productivity, innovation, collaboration and growth in order to boost resilience.

Suitable companies with collaboration potential will also be identified from the participating companies for future MEPN intervention programmes.

Your participation in this survey is instrumental in this endeavor. As industry leaders, experts, and professionals, your firsthand knowledge will provide invaluable data to evaluate the sector's current state, identify emerging trends, and uncover potential areas of growth and collaboration.

Please contact Mr. Abdul Rahman Kamis (arahman@mpc.gov.my) should you have any enquiries. Thank you.

NOTE:

All information shared in the survey form will be treated as confidential and will be used only by MPC/MEPN/MEIF for the purposes stated above. Thank you.
