Kuala Lumpur, 16 October 2025 – The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Maybank have formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a premier global investment destination.

The partnership combines MIDA’s investment facilitation expertise with Maybank’s financial advisory capabilities and regional network to channel both domestic and foreign investments into Malaysia’s high-growth sectors — including E&E, digital economy, EV ecosystem, healthcare, and petrochemical industries.

Witnessed by YB Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, the MOU was exchanged during IGEM 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

This collaboration will drive targeted investment missions, business roundtables, and promotional campaigns aligned with key national frameworks such as NIMP 2030, NETR, NSS, NIIF, and GIS, as well as state initiatives like the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).

MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim highlighted the partnership as a bridge between capital and opportunity, positioning Malaysia as a launchpad for regional expansion. Maybank Group President and CEO Dato’ Sri Khairussaleh Ramli emphasised the bank’s commitment to advancing Malaysia’s role in the global Halal economy and supporting sustainability-driven growth.

This MOU reinforces both organisations’ shared goal to enhance Malaysia’s global competitiveness and contribute to ASEAN’s sustainable economic resilience.
